- Use of mobile phones while driving is prohibited, unless used with a hands free kit.
- All vehicles must clearly display tax sticker from Department for Land Transport.
- The permissible limit of blood/ alcohol is precisely 0.5 mg for driving.
Speed limit in Koh Samui is 45Km/hr, though on certain roads the limit is set for 60Km/hr.

While driving in Koh Samui you need to be particularly watchful of motorcycles as the minimum age to drive a motorcycle of up to 110cc is 15.
